The Commando Miniatures Ferret is now available for purchase via the website.
The Ferret was introduced in 1952 as a replacement for the World War Two era Daimler Dingo Scout Car. Production continued until 1971 and the Ferret remained in service with the British Army until after the Gulf War of 1991. Over 4,400 Ferrets were produced in various Marks and the vehicle saw service with the armed forces of more than 20 countries. Apart from the British Army the Ferret was deployed by the French in Algeria, the Portuguese in Angola, the Indian, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand and South African armies. Ferrets have also been used in UN peace keeping roles and remain in service with several smaller armed services to this day.

A new year, new miniatures and new stock!

Yes, 2013 has started with a bang. We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our new packs, covering more British infantry and our first foray into the Arabian Peninsula. This time the British figures are in fire-fight action poses and come ready for trouble, in belt-order, the preferred mode for combat. They are reinforced now by a General Purpose Machine Gunner and his No 2.

In 1962 the situation in Aden deteriorated and fighting broke out both in the city itself and in the lawless Radfan Mountains to the north. As was usual during this period British troops were sent to quell the disturbances and restore order. In the Radfan they found themselves up against the Red Wolves, a militaristic group of tribes, little changed in appearance since the days of the Mahdi, 80 years before. These rebels will be the first in a range of figures for this conflict.

Meanwhile we are delighted to relate that most of our existing items are back in stock in good quantities. More items will be made available on the site in the near future, so keep watching for developments. There is no doubt that interest is growing in the post-war, "Retreat from Empire" period. A lot more hapened than just Vietnam in the period between Korea and the Falklands.

Also new!

Check out our new page QM Stores - 2 Accessories. We have always beleived that wargamers and collectors need more bits and pieces to really make their figures look unique. We therefore present the first of what will be a growing range of the kind of items that allow customisation, alternative heads, weapons and packs. You don't even even have to use them on Commando Miniatures - we don't mind if you buy them to convert another manufacturer's miniatures!
